It is week 8 of Linda's Compendium of Curiosity Vol 2 (by Tim Holtz) Challenge.
For this week's project Linda chose Repurposed Packaging (pg 62). As ever I will not give the directions for the technique on this blog post out of respect for Tim's intellectual property. You can purchase an autographed copy of Compendium of Curiosity Vol. 1 or 2 on Tim's website.
I adore this card…it highlights my humor. The background is gorgeous and I hope you can see the details. I used Distress Ink in Broken China and Tumbled Glass on the background and splattered water onto it to get those awesome splatters of lighter color. Then I went all elegant with silver pigment ink and a script background stamp. The
part of the card that is the repurposed packaging is the umbrella. I colored it with alcohol inks.
Can't wait for Week 9…this has been so much fun.

I love this tag and all the little details! How clever to use the faucet knob and the splatter technique! Those jewel raindrops really stand out and I love that you made the umbrella transparent. Lots of great ideas, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteDanee, your tag makes me smile! I love the use of the faucet knob...as if you could turn off the rain! The background is lovely and the blue/silver color scheme is perfect for the subject!
